cdVet Fit-BARF Psyllium Husks – swelling dietary fibre for dogs and cats

A carefully planned diet should not only meet your pet’s nutritional requirements but also suit its individual needs. cdVet Fit-BARF Psyllium Husks are a natural, single-ingredient feed in powder form for dogs and cats. 

The ground husks provide soluble fibre and can be specifically incorporated into BARF diets or other feeding regimes. When combined with water, psyllium husks swell to many times their original volume. This is due to natural mucilaginous polysaccharides, which can bind large amounts of liquid.

This naturally increases the volume of the food without the need for a carbohydrate-rich side dish. This makes psyllium husks particularly suitable for dogs with a small appetite and animals whose meals need to be supplemented with a filling source of dietary fibre. The volume of faeces can also be increased by the swelling dietary fibre. According to the manufacturer, this can help dogs that repeatedly experience problems with their anal glands. Furthermore, the soluble dietary fibre is also suitable for sensitive dogs. 

The simple composition, consisting of 100% ground psyllium husks, makes for a particularly straightforward and customisable dietary supplement. 

Important!
Before feeding, the psyllium husks must be mixed with sufficient water. To do this, mix 1 part psyllium husks with at least 10 parts water and leave to soak for 15–20 minutes. Do not feed dry. As the resulting slime can interfere with the absorption of medication, psyllium husks and medication should be given at different times.
