cdVet FlohEx Environmental Spray – targeted flea control in the home

In the event of a flea infestation, it is not just the pet itself that matters: dog beds, blankets, baskets and other frequently used areas can also be included in the treatment. The cdVet FlohEx Environmental Spray for households with dogs and cats has been developed to repel fleas in the immediate surroundings of your pet. The ready-to-use solution can be applied directly to suitable surfaces, helping you to carefully treat your four-legged friend’s favourite spots.

Where can the FlohEx Environmental Spray be used?

The spray is intended for use in areas where dogs and cats spend time, rest or sleep. These include, for example, beds, blankets, travel crates, suitable upholstered surfaces, the car or the kennel. It is to be used exclusively in the pet’s immediate surroundings and must NOT be sprayed directly onto the skin or coat. According to the manufacturer, it can also be used in the vicinity of young dogs and cats aged 4 months and over

How does the flea repellent work?

FlohEx Environmental Spray contains geraniol derived from the leaves of the palmarosa geranium. Once sprayed, the repellent active ingredient remains on the treated surface and emits an odour that is unattractive to fleas. The spray is designed to repel fleas and cannot completely prevent a flea infestation under all circumstances. In the event of an acute or recurring infestation, the animal itself and all regularly used sleeping and living areas should therefore also be treated.

How should the environmental spray be used correctly?

Shake the bottle before use. Spray the solution evenly from a distance of about 5 cm onto the areas where your dog or cat frequently spends time. Sleeping and resting areas should be treated with particular care. Before using the product for the first time, test sensitive fabrics, upholstery and other surfaces for material and colour fastness on an inconspicuous area.

How often should the surfaces be treated?

In the event of an acute flea infestation, the manufacturer recommends spraying frequently used living, resting and sleeping areas daily for the first 5 days. If the pet is also treated with a suitable FlohEx product, the treatment can then be repeated every 10–14 days. If the pet is not treated with a separate product, an interval of 5–8 days is recommended. For preventative use, the affected areas can be treated approximately every 4 weeks
