The cdVet FlohEx spray for dogs and cats is a ready-to-use repellent designed to ward off fleas directly on the animal. 

The active ingredient, derived from the leaves of the lemon eucalyptus, spreads over the skin and coat, producing a scent that is unattractive to fleas. This means the spray can be easily incorporated into your pet’s grooming routine and provides practical support during periods of increased flea activity.

Which animals is FlohEx suitable for?

This spray-on flea treatment can be used on dogs and cats aged 4 months and over. The dermatologically tested formula is suitable for different coat types and can be dosed according to the animal’s size. Important! If several dogs or cats live in the same household, all animals should be checked and treated as necessary. FlohEx cannot completely prevent contact with fleas and does not replace comprehensive flea control in the event of an existing infestation.

How does the spray repel fleas?

FlohEx contains hydrolysed and cyclised lemon eucalyptus oil as its repellent active ingredient. Once applied, this adheres to the skin and fur and, thanks to its characteristic odour, makes the treated animal less attractive to fleas. According to the manufacturer, the repellent effect takes effect immediately and can last for up to 5 hours. The actual duration may vary depending on factors such as coat type, activity level and external influences.

Does the environment also need to be treated for fleas?

In the event of a flea infestation, treating the pet alone is usually not sufficient, as eggs, larvae and other developmental stages may be present in the surroundings in particular. Sleeping areas, blankets, pet beds, carpets, upholstery and the car should therefore be included in the treatment. A dedicated environmental spray is required to treat these areas.

How is cdVet FlohEx used? 

Shake the bottle before use. Spray FlohEx 1–2 times a day against the direction of the fur and ensure the coat is evenly moistened. Then gently massage the spray into the fur. Do not spray directly onto the face or around the eyes. If necessary, apply a small amount to these areas with your hands whilst they are still damp, taking care to avoid the eyes and mucous membranes. FlohEx is designed to repel fleas but is not a substitute for a veterinary diagnosis or targeted treatment of a severe infestation.
