The cdVet insektoVet Combi Spray is a ready-to-use grooming spray for dogs and cats that temporarily masks the animal’s natural odour. The combination of selected essential oils creates a fresh scent that is said to be less attractive to summer pests such as ticks, fleas, mosquitoes and horseflies. This makes the spray easy to use before walks, outings or time spent outdoors.

Which animals is the Combi Spray suitable for? 

The insektoVet Combi Spray can be used on dogs and cats and, according to the manufacturer, is also suitable for young animals from 3 months of age. The liquid formula can be applied evenly to the coat and is particularly suitable for pet owners looking for a purely plant-based grooming product to mask odours. The spray does not guarantee complete protection against ticks, fleas or other pests. You should therefore continue to check your dog or cat regularly – especially after walks through tall grass, woodland or dense undergrowth.

How does odour masking work?

Dogs and cats have their own unique scent, which can also be detected by insects. The essential oils in insektoVet Combi Spray coat the skin and coat with a distinctive fragrance, designed to temporarily mask the animal’s natural scent profile. The formula combines cedarwood, lavender, clove, juniper berry and citronella oils. These plant-based oils give the spray its fresh scent and form the basis of the odour masking described by the manufacturer. The product consists of 100% natural ingredients and is supplied ready for use.

How is insektoVet Combi Spray used? Shake the bottle before each use. Spray the product 1–2 times a day against the direction of the coat and ensure the coat is evenly moistened. Then gently massage the spray in to ensure it is well distributed throughout the coat. Do not spray directly onto the face or around the eyes. Instead, apply a small amount of the product to your hands and gently stroke it into the coat. Avoid the eyes, mouth and mucous membranes.

When should you seek veterinary advice? 

Excessive scratching, reddened or inflamed skin, bald patches, and visible fleas or other parasites should be investigated by a vet. insektoVet Combi Spray is a grooming product designed to mask odours and is not a substitute for a veterinary diagnosis or targeted parasite treatment.
