The cdVet insektoVet Environmental Spray has been developed to repel crawling and flying insects in the immediate vicinity of dogs and cats. It can be used on sleeping and resting areas, blankets, beds, in pet carriers, in the car or in kennels, and helps to make areas frequently used by pets less attractive to ticks, fleas, mites, lice, hair lice, moths, mosquitoes, ants and cockroaches. The ready-to-use spray is suitable both for treating an existing infestation and for regular preventative treatment of the environment. This allows you to include not only your pet itself, but also its favourite resting places, in a comprehensive insect-repellent strategy. 

Where can the environmental spray be used?

cdVet insektoVet Environmental Spray is intended for areas where dogs or cats regularly spend time. Sleeping areas, dog beds, cat baskets, blankets, upholstery, travel crates and the car should be treated with particular care. The product is to be used exclusively in the pet’s environment and must not be sprayed directly onto the skin or coat. It can also be used in the vicinity of young dogs and cats aged four months and over.

How does the insektoVet Environmental Spray work?

Geraniol, derived from the leaves of the palmarosa geranium, is used as the repellent active ingredient. Once sprayed, the active ingredient adheres to the treated surface and emits a scent that is unattractive to numerous crawling and flying insects. The ready-to-use formulation allows for straightforward application without the need for prior dilution. This enables you to treat your pet’s favourite resting and living areas quickly and precisely.

How should the spray be used correctly?

Shake the bottle before use and spray the desired areas from a distance of about 5 cm. Sleeping and resting areas that are used particularly frequently should be treated thoroughly. The recommended application rate is approximately 5 ml per m². With the 100-ml bottle, one spray corresponds to approximately 0.15 ml. The 500-ml bottle has a spray head with a higher output; here, one spray corresponds to approximately 1.3 ml. Delicate fabrics and surfaces should be tested for material and colour fastness on an inconspicuous area before first use. 

How often should the environment be treated?

In the event of an acute infestation, the manufacturer recommends spraying the animal’s preferred resting, sleeping and lying areas daily for the first five days. If the animal is also treated with insektoVet Total, application can then be carried out every 10 to 14 days. If the animal is not treated additionally, it is recommended to repeat the treatment every five to eight days. For preventative use, the affected areas can be treated approximately every four weeks.
