cdVet insektoVet Shampoo is a highly concentrated care product designed for thorough cleansing of the skin and coat. It removes dirt and residues such as flea faeces during washing and is particularly suitable for coat care following contact with fleas, mites or other unwanted pests. At the same time, your pet receives a thorough clean without neglecting the natural care needs of their skin and coat.

Which animals is this grooming shampoo suitable for?

The insektoVet shampoo can be used on short- and long-haired dogs, puppies and cats. Thanks to its concentrated formula, it can be used sparingly and distributed evenly through the damp coat. With cats, particular care should be taken to rinse the shampoo out thoroughly and to prevent them from licking it off as much as possible during application.

How does the shampoo clean and condition the coat?

Selected cleansing agents based on coconut and plant-derived sugar compounds dissolve dirt and help to wash flea faeces and other residues out of the coat. According to the manufacturer, the formula’s moisturising and coat-conditioning properties contribute to the gentle cleansing of stressed skin and fur. Grapefruit and citronella oils, as well as geraniol, give the shampoo its characteristic scent. This scent masks the animal’s natural odour, thereby forming the basis of the odour-masking effect described by the manufacturer against fleas, mites and other pests. The shampoo contains no parabens or silicones and, according to the manufacturer’s information, contains no added colourings or fragrances.

Does the shampoo replace a targeted parasite treatment? 

The insektoVet shampoo is a grooming and cleansing product. It can remove existing pests and their residues from the coat during a thorough wash; however, in the event of a confirmed or severe parasite infestation, it is not a substitute for treatment recommended by a vet. If your pet is scratching repeatedly, has skin inflammation, visible parasites or persistent symptoms, they should be examined by a vet. The environment, particularly sleeping areas, blankets and upholstery, must also be checked in the event of a flea infestation.

How is the concentrate used?

Before use, dilute one part shampoo with five parts water. Massage the mixture carefully into the wet coat and rinse it out thoroughly after two to three minutes. Repeat the washing process and leave the lather to work for about five minutes. Afterwards, the coat must be rinsed very thoroughly once more with clean water.
