cdVet insektoVet Spray – Repellent for dogs and cats

The cdVet insektoVet Spray for dogs and cats is designed to repel crawling and flying insects. The active ingredient, derived from the leaves of the lemon eucalyptus, is distributed over the skin and coat, producing a scent that is unattractive to ticks, fleas, mites, mosquitoes, flies and lice. The spray therefore offers a practical way to protect your four-legged friend from unwanted pests during walks, outings and in everyday life.

Which animals is the insektoVet spray suitable for?

The insect repellent spray can be used on dogs and cats and, according to the manufacturer, is also suitable for young animals from four months of age. The dermatologically tested formula can be applied directly to the coat and is particularly suitable for periods when ticks, mosquitoes and other insects are more prevalent.

How long does the repellent effect last?

According to the manufacturer, the spray provides immediate protection for up to five hours after application. As the actual duration may be influenced by factors such as weather conditions, coat type and the animal’s activity level, application should be repeated once or twice a day. The spray does not provide absolute protection against contact with parasites. Particularly after walks through tall grass, woodland or dense undergrowth, the coat should still be checked carefully for ticks and other pests.

What is the active ingredient?

Hydrolysed and cyclised lemon eucalyptus oil is used as the repellent active ingredient. Its characteristic scent lingers on the skin and fur after application and is designed to deter both crawling and flying insects from settling on the animal. 

How should the spray be used correctly?

Shake the bottle before use. Spray the insektoVet spray against the direction of the fur once or twice a day, ensuring the coat is evenly moistened. Then massage it in gently. Do not spray directly onto the face or around the eyes. Instead, apply a small amount of the product to your hands and gently spread it over the relevant area. Take care to avoid the eyes and mucous membranes.

For the 100ml bottle, approximately 3–6 sprays are recommended for cats and small dogs up to 10 kg, for medium-sized dogs up to 25 kg, around 10–15 sprays, and for large dogs from 40 kg, around 20–30 sprays.
The 500ml bottle has a spray head with a higher output. For medium-sized dogs up to 25 kg, approximately 1–2 sprays are therefore recommended, and for large dogs weighing 40 kg or more, approximately 2–4 sprays. For cats and small dogs, the 100 ml bottle should be used.
