cdVet MilbenEx – Mite Repellent Spray for Dogs and Cats

The cdVet MilbenEx spray for dogs and cats is a ready-to-use repellent designed to ward off mites. The active ingredient, derived from the leaves of the lemon eucalyptus, spreads over the skin and coat, creating a scent that is unattractive to mites. This makes the mite spray easy to incorporate into your daily routine – especially at times when your four-legged friend is more likely to come into contact with these unwanted pests.

Which animals is MilbenEx suitable for?

The spray can be used on dogs and cats from four months of age. It is suitable for young, adult and older animals and is applied directly to the coat. If several dogs or cats live in the same household, the manufacturer recommends treating all animals accordingly. As mites can also be found in sleeping areas, blankets and other living spaces, the surroundings should also be treated if necessary.

How does the mite repellent spray work?

MilbenEx contains hydrolysed and cyclised lemon eucalyptus oil as its repellent active ingredient. Once applied, this adheres to the skin and fur and alters the odour in a way that is intended to keep mites away from the treated animal. According to the manufacturer, the repellent effect takes effect immediately after application and can last for up to five hours. Its actual duration may be influenced by factors such as the condition of the coat, the animal’s activity level and external conditions. A repellent cannot guarantee the complete prevention of any contact with mites.

How should cdVet MilbenEx be used correctly?

Shake the bottle before use. Spray MilbenEx against the direction of the fur 1–2 times a day, ensuring the coat is evenly moistened. Then gently massage the product into the coat. Do not spray directly onto the face or around the eyes. If necessary, apply a small amount to these areas with your hands whilst they are still damp, taking care to avoid the eyes and mucous membranes. For cats and small dogs up to 10 kg, approximately 3 to 6 sprays are recommended; for medium-sized dogs up to 25 kg, approximately 10 to 15 sprays; and for large dogs weighing 40 kg or more, approximately 20 to 30 sprays. One spray from the 50 & 100ml bottles corresponds to approximately 0.15 ml.

When is it advisable to seek veterinary advice?

Severe or persistent scratching, bald patches, scabs, reddened skin or recurring symptoms can have various causes. MilbenEx is designed to repel mites, but is not a substitute for a veterinary diagnosis or the targeted treatment of an existing infestation.

Available sizes: 50ml & 100 ml
