The Ajka tick hook was developed to remove ticks safely and painlessly. The set consists of two tick hooks of different sizes. With the small hook, even tiny ticks can be removed without leaving any residue with a little practice.

The tick hook, which is usually easier to use than tick tweezers, generally removes the entire tick with head and mouthparts without any effort. It is pushed under the tick's head and then gently rotated around its own axis. The tick's body is not crushed in the process, minimising the risk of transmitting diseases (such as Lyme disease or babesiosis) or toxic substances during removal. Ticks can also be removed effortlessly from difficult and sensitive skin areas - not only from animals, but also from us humans!

To counteract the transmission of diseases, it is particularly important to remove ticks as soon as they have been sucked in. Ticks become active from an outside temperature of around 7°C - so they can appear even in winter when temperatures are mild.
